Coca-Cola is the highest placed company from the drinks and restaurants sector in the FT Global 500 which are ranked by market capitalisation. Coca-Cola is placed 42, down from 31 last year. Rival Pepsico has dropped from 37 to 44. LVMH has risen from 149 to 141, Diageo has dropped from 128 to 147 and McDonald’s from 133 to 153. Anheuser-Busch has fallen from 146 to 207 but SABMiller climbs from 345 to 230. InBev is another climber, up from 288 to 243 and Ambev, up from 313 to 266. Cadbury Schweppes has dropped from 277 to 366 and Heineken from 352 to 410. Pernod-Ricard is a new entry at 428. FT Magazine 10/06/06 page 16-41
