Clapham House Group, the Aim-listed operator, is in advanced negotiations to sell its Bombay Bicycle Club (BBC) chain, M&C Report understands. The company is expected to conclude a sale of the Indian restaurant and home delivery business within the next few weeks. The company put BBC, which comprises three restaurants and 15 delivery units, mainly located in London, up for sale through Coffer Corporate Leisure after receiving a number of approaches. It is thought that some of the proceeds will be reinvested in its main growth-driver Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK). Clapham is also thought to be interested in selling its 24-strong American Diner chains, Tootsies and Dexters, if offers were to match its own valuations. Alongside GBK, which has been expanded to more than 50 locations, Clapham also owns six restaurants that operate under The Real Greek format. Clapham is the subject of buyout speculation as Capricorn Ventures, the owner of Nando’s, has built a stake of more than 25% in the group.
