Some of the world’s top chefs have accused each other of being so obsessed with accolades that they are failing diners. Derek Brown, who is responsible for handing out Michelin stars, said chefs were becoming too preoccupied with the star system. Anthony Worrall Thompson was one of those who said Gordon Ramsay and Heston Blumental had obsessively chased the Holy Grail of Michelin stars and innovated purely for the sake of awards, rather than good food.
