Carluccio’s, the all-day Italian café chain led by Simon Kossoff, will make its debut in Scotland next week when it opens its first site in Glasgow. Kossoff told M&C Report that the company was also exploring opportunities to open in Aberdeen and Edinburgh as it continues to move towards its long-term goal of operating an estate of 100 restaurants in the UK. The group’s initial foray into Scotland is being overseen by operations director Sarah Murray before an area manager for the country is appointed. The Glasgow site will become the group’s 57th in total and its last opening this year. With the Glasgow launch, the group would have opened eight sites in 2011 and Kossoff said that the chain had plans to open 10 restaurants next year.
