Carluccio’s, the all-day Italian café chain led by Simon Kossoff, has signed up Tahola to deliver a business intelligence solution designed to give them a single view of information across their business. Frank Bandura, chief financial officer at Carluccio’s, said: “Our strategy over the last ten years has been to go for best-of-breed technology solutions for each area of our business. At the same time, it’s extremely important for us to understand in detail the various aspects of our business – yet that has become more difficult to do as we have grown. “Consequently, we needed a system agnostic solution that would sit across the top of all our individual systems (Epos, stock management, payroll) to give us a truly single view of all our data. We believe IBM Cognos will give us maximum flexibility, both now and in the future, to create and shape a solution that fits our business. “Our aim is to really empower the decision-makers in the business by providing them with relevant and timely information that will give them valuable insight, enabling them to make better decisions, faster. We’re expecting it to impact and influence the key drivers of our business. It might drive change, for example, in our promotional activity, or the way we communicate with our customers, the way we schedule our labour or the products we stock. With a single version of the truth, the possibilities are exciting. “Tahola took the time and worked hard to design a solution specific to us. We already feel that Tahola will be proactive business supporters and will work in partnership with us to deliver real benefit to Carluccio’s performance.”
