Carluccio’s, the all-day Italian café chain led by Simon Kossoff, plans to open a site in Bath, if a planning application to convert some empty shops in the city’s Milsom Place into a restaurant are approved. The 57-strong group plans to open a 95-cover restaurant on the site. Kossoff said: “We have been looking for the right site in Bath for a very long time and Milsom Place is perfect for us. This arrangement of buildings and the adjacent courtyard allows us to create a really special experience.” CWM is acting on behalf of centre owner, the L&R Group. Last month, Carluccio’s acquired four restaurants from the ex-Paramount Restaurants estate, which was placed into administration last November, for an undisclosed sum. The group acquired the Brasserie Gerards in Berkhampstead, Pinner Reigate and Teddington. The company has already secured sites in Paddington and Colchester this year, which added to the four Paramount units, takes it over half to its target of opening 10 units in 2012.
