Camino, the Spanish bar group owned by Richard Bigg, has plans to expand to 10 sites in the four years. Bigg told delegates at M&C Report’s Restaurant Conference last week that the latest site for the concept, which was opened recently at Canary Wharf was trading well. He said the site was expected to produce around £2.75m in gross annual sales and have an ebitda of £300,000. He said: “We are looking at more sites right now and would like to open a third soon, looking to 10 in the next four years.” The Camino Group opened its first King Cross Camino two years ago and since opened Bar Pepito, a sherry concept that is Time Out’s London bar of the year. The company also recently exited its London music venue Cargo, disposed of the majority of its stake in the Big Chill music festival and sold its Market Place bar just north of Oxford Street.
