The Hellenic Restaurant has become the first premise in Camden to have its alcohol licence reviewed under the Licensing Act 2003. As a result of the review, Camden Council has changed the conditions of the restaurants closing time from 2am on a Friday and Saturday night to midnight, with an additional 30mins of drinking up time. The council took the decision to change the conditions of the outlet’s licence after complaints of noise nuisance from a neighbour and reports of anti-social behaviour in the area to the police. Councillor Don Williams, chair of the licensing committee at Camden Council, said: “Our approach is to give licensees guidance and support so they stay within the law, but together with the police we will enforce licensing policy and take action where it’s needed.”
