Buen Ayre, the Argentinean steak restaurant co-owned by John Rattagan and Alberto Abbate, is opening its second site before the end of the year in South London. The pair, whose restaurant has been nominated twice for the Time Out Eating & Drinking awards, have invested £100,000 in the new 75-cover restaurant in Battersea. The restaurant will follow the same concept as the Broadway Market outlet, which has an open kitchen with a traditional parilla, a wide grill that is lowered onto coals to cook the meat. The menu revolves around a variety of steaks, dishes and wines from Argentina for an average spend of £25. Rattagan said: “The first restaurant is doing so well and has been such a success with the press and the locals that we decided to open a second one. “For the moment we will take it one step at a time and see how the restaurant is received before making any plans for further sites.”
