Bruce Bar, the multiple operator run by Michael Nicholas, has acquired the leasehold interest of the Pub On The Park in London Fields, off an asking price in excess of £150,000. Davis Coffer Lyons (DCL) handled the disposal of the Hackney pub on behalf of freeholders Brendan and Ann McDonald, who have owned the pub for 20 years. Nicholas owns and operates seven pubs in the North London area including The Enterprise and The Monarch in Camden - and also owns the five-strong Bodean chain of barbecue restaurants in London. He has secured a new 20-year free of tie lease and intends to make minor changes to the pub’s food offer. The pub sits on the edge of one of Hackney’s most popular green spaces, London Fields, which was awarded a Green Flag in 2009. It features a 2,300 sq ft raised deck terrace and a 1,000 sq ft bar.
