Aagrah, the Shipley-based Indian restaurant chain, is to expand, after winning the Best Restaurant Group award at this year’s British Curry Awards. The company, which is run by Mohammed Aslam, managing director, currently operates ten restaurants in West, North and South Yorkshire but is looking to expand into the east of the county and nationally. Aslam said: “We’ve been in Yorkshire for 30 years now and we have to move forward. East Yorkshire is next and then we can get out of the county and go further afield.” Future locations targeted in East Yorkshire include Hull, Beverley and Scarborough. The company was among a shortlist of 100 businesses chosen from more than 2,800 nominated restaurants across the UK for the award, which was voted for by the public.
