High Street pizza chain Strada saw profits quadruple in the year to last June. Accounts filed by former parent company Pinco, in which Luke Johnson has a 55% stake, show sales increased 35% to £23m and profits soared from £1.1m to £4.6m. Pinco sold the chain for £57m last September to clothing tycoon Richard Caring, netting Johnson £33m. Caring has now expanded the chain from 25 restaurants to 37. Meanwhile Johnson has spent £50m buying six dogtracks from the now-dissolved Wembley gaming group. The Mail on Sunday (Financial Mail) 14/05/06 page 5
