A new landmark YO! Sushi restaurant on the River Thames in London will feature its first outdoor, or “alfresco”, conveyor belt. The new 2,570sq ft eaterie at Royal Festival Hall near Waterloo will comprise 67 covers inside plus a further 30 outside, and be located on the riverside section between Giraffe and Wagamama. Robin Rowland, chief executive, told M&C: “The belt is a good way for us to make the most of the outside space at Royal Festival Hall, adding additional covers to what is probably the most premium and desirable restaurant strip in the UK.” The conveyor belt is designed to be used throughout the year. It will be covered to protect food from the elements, with heaters providing warmth to diners in the colder months. The restaurant will open in August.
