Britain's best-known chef Gordon Ramsay is spending £10m to export his fine-dining restaurants to America and Europe and has vowed to "devour" his New York rivals. He is set to open three new restaurants in the US followed by three more on the Continent next year. All will offer his trademark European cuisine. Ramsay estimates his restaurant at the London (NYC) hotel in Manhattan will generate a £12m-a-year turnover. Together with his other eateries at the London (LA) hotel in Los Angeles and Cielo in Boca Raton, Florida, he could pull in more than £30m a year. They will be the first overseas restaurants he controls outright and take his personal wealth to more than £100m. The Sunday Times 05/11/06 (Business) pages 3.3 & 3.6
