London pub company Young & Co today reported faster sales growth at its managed pubs. Chairman Christopher Sandland told the annual shareholders meeting that like-for-like sales at Young’s 116 managed pubs rose 3.2% in the 15 weeks to July 12. Sandland said: “Whilst we continue to be mindful of the broader economic outlook, we are positive about the positioning of the business and its resilience. "We look forward to being able to report continued progress in the coming year.” Young’s also announced the appointment of Roger Lambert and David Page as non-executive directors. Lambert has been a senior managing director at JPMorgan Cazenove with responsibility for the consumer sector. Page is the co-founder and chairman of The Clapham House Group.
