A group of leading pub industry figures have launched a new pub management consultancy group. Phoenix Management Resources (PMR), is headed by ex-Carlsberg executive Charles Mackintosh, and aims to help the likes of banks and operators identify where a particular pub business is going wrong. PMR, which was created by Leo Murphy, a former commercial director at Greene King, to sit alongside his Arizona Group, aims to look at businesses in the 50 to 100-pub category. The PMR team also includes Paul Clark, the man who worked with Sir Richard Branson to develop Virgin Hotels and is now working alongside Marco Pierre-White to rollout his pub/hotel offering as well as Alan Moore. Moore has held a range of senior positions including group personnel director of Courage, director of Dawnay Day Corporate Finance, and leisure consultant to Ernst & Young.
