A mother and daughter from Twickenham have secured The Bell Inn pub in Great Cheverell, Wiltshire, after an appearance on Channel4’s property show, Relocation Relocation. First-time buyers Gill and Sara Currie found the property after an introduction to the Bristol office of agents Christie & Co as part of the programme, set to air this autumn. The final purchase price is undisclosed, although the initial asking price was £465,000 for the freehold interest. A former coaching inn dating back some 400 years, The Bell is a detached Grade II listed building that still features many original fittings, such as exposed beams, open fireplaces and brick ovens, despite a number of historical renovations. Also featured are an L-shaped bar, a 26-cover restaurant, a private function room with skittle alley and owner’s two-bedroom accommodation. Nicholas Calfe, of Christie & Co, Bristol, said: "The Bell has established an excellent food and drinking trade with the local trade derived mainly from the surrounding villages and nearby towns of Trowbridge and Devizes."
