Ed Turner has been appointed as commercial director at Young’s, as part of the rationalisation of the London-based brewer and pub operator’s head office team following its £60m acquisition of Geronimo Inns last December. Turner, who became commercial director at Geronimo in June 1999, is now responsible for marketing, recruitment, training and commercial business across both Young’s and Geronimo. In his updated role, the former retail operations manager at Mitchells & Butlers will report into Patrick Dardis, Young’s retail director. Geronimo recently bought the freehold of the Clarence in London’s Whitehall, from a private investor, for a sum just under £4m. It currently operates a further 27 sites across London, plus the Red Barn in Lingfield, Surrey and is set to open the Cow in Stratford Westfield City later this year.
