TCG, the managed pub company, has sold the leasehold interest of the Bar 38 in Hammersmith, London, to Lala Restaurants, for an undisclosed sum. Bar 38, which is currently closed, is housed in the ground floor and basement of a modern, purpose-built block. The property, which is situated on the main local drinking circuit, comprises a ground floor bar with capacity for 300 and a basement bar with capacity for 150. Christie & Co handled the sale on behalf of TCG. Lala Restaurants, which is run by an experienced operator who is returning to the restaurant sector, plans to re-open the unit as a Mediterranean restaurant with between 150 and 200 covers, in mid-October. Earlier this year, Christie & Co sold the leasehold interests of the Bar Baja in Leeds and the Ivory Lounge in Edinburgh on behalf of TCG to JD Wetherspoon, for undisclosed sums.
