TCG Bars, the pub and bar business backed by Alchemy Partners, is understood to have placed a package of nine sites on the market that no longer form part of its core estate. The sites, which are a mixture of freehold and leasehold pubs, are spread across the country from Devon to Edinburgh. The sites range in price for £50,000 for the leasehold interest of the Bar 38 in Peter Street, Manchester, to £500,000 for the freehold of Mr Modos in Edinburgh and the George & Dragon in Leigh. The pubs are available individually or as a group. Property advisor Christie + Co is the believed to be marketing the sites on behalf of TCG, which currently operates an estate of over 90 pubs and bars. Earlier this year, the company reported a steep increase in losses for the year to 31 August 2010 but revealed that its parent company – Tattershall Castle Group Limited – would continue to offer financial support.
