Stankerr Pubs, the pub operating subsidiary of property development company Tabacon Group, has bought the freehold of a Devon pub. The Dartmoor Union in Holbeton was acquired off an asking price of £325,000. Christie + Co handled the sale. Jon Clyne, associate director at Christie + Co’s Exeter office, said: “The new owners have undertaken a refurbishment of the trade areas throughout the pub and intend to offer high quality food. This represents another successful sale for Christie + Co in the South Hams area, just proving that sensibly priced properties in popular areas of the South West are still selling to cash buyers.” Stankerr Pubs was set up in 2009 and is led by Jamie Noble. Last year it bought four former Moorgate Taverns pubs: the Plough in Berkhamstead, Herts; the White Schooner in Peacehaven, East Sussex; plus Mokoko and the Sun Inn, both in St Albans. Its other pubs include the Quay in Kingsbridge, Devon; the White Horse in Easington near Hull; plus Live and Let Live and the Royal Standard, both in High Wycombe.
