St Austell, the Cornwall brewer, has added a landmark coastal pub to its 169-strong pub estate. The family-backed group, led by James Staughton, has bought the Old Success Inn at Sennen Cove, just a few miles from Land’s End. The pub, which dates back to the 16th century, has a strong food business and also includes 12 en-suite rooms plus three self-catering apartments. Adam Luck, estate director, said: “We were incredibly proud to be able to buy the Old Success recently after many years of close links with the pub as a supplier.” St Austell, which was founded in 1851, has recruited Vince Jones to manage the site.
