Six of the 25 Penn Street Taverns pubs put on the market with Christie + Co have been sold, with deals agreed on a further 11, according to the property agent. M&C Report understands that private investors have acquired the sites. Outlets sold include the Crown in Wednesbury, West Midlands (guide price £110k); the Queens Arms in Smethwick, West Midlands (guide price £95k); and the Nedge Tavern in Telford, Shropshire (offers invited). Sale prices have not been revealed. A spokesman for Christie + Co said there is “a lot of interest” in the remaining eight sites. Penn Street Taverns placed its 22-strong pub estate on the market in July as the owners look to concentrate on other business opportunities. Christie + Co was already marketing three Penn Street pubs at that point. The majority of the sites, which are spread across the West Midlands, Shropshire, Worcestershire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Herefordshire, are freehold and range in price from £85,000 to £450,000. The pubs are available individually or as a group and most are being marketed with vacant possession.
