Shepherd Neame, the Kent-based brewer and pub operator, has bought its seventh hotel with the £3.6m acquisition of the Bell Hotel in Sandwich. The 37-bedroom site has been acquired freehold from capital investment firm Albion Ventures. The hotel will join Shepherd Neame's managed division. It follows the company’s purchase of the Fayreness Hotel in Broadstairs last month. The Bell acquisition takes the number of rooms in its seven hotels up to 450. The Bell features two function rooms and recently underwent a major refurbishment. Shepherd Neame retail director Nigel Bunting said: “The Bell is a well known, prestigious hotel, ideal for business travellers, visitors on short breaks, keen golfers and customers looking for a high-quality function venue.”
