Searcys, the upmarket restaurant operator and caterer, has revealed it is to open two new champagne bars in London. The company, which was bought in an £8m management buyout earlier this year, is to launch its concept at Paddington Station before Christmas and at One New Change, the new development close to St Paul’s at a later date. Speaking at M&C Report’s Restaurant Conference, Doug Tetley, Searcys’ chief executive, said the concept was based around “stylish indulgence” and had worked well at its two existing sites, in Westfield London and St Pancras, despite the recession. The bar at Westfield, which was designed using materials that are used in the production of Formula One cars, has also been miniaturised meaning Searcys is about to develop a pop-up bar that can be used at events like Wimbledon or Goodwood.
