Punch Taverns is offering its tenants access to former winning beers from the Campaign for Real Ale’s (CAMRA) Champion Beers of Britain selection, writes Michelle Perrett. Just under 1,000 licensees on Punch’s latest Finest Cask rotation will be able to access 12 Supreme Champion category beers, all of which have won the title Champion Beer of Britain or been a runner up in the competition. A range of PoS material from pump-clip crowners to promotional booklets and posters will be made available. Stephen Martin, marketing manager at Punch Taverns, said the company is to work with CAMRA on a range of initiatives going forward. He said: “The beers offer something for all with a wide range of different styles, strengths, colours and flavours. “The Great British Beer Festival presents a great opportunity for our partners to hold their own beer festival, perhaps over the August bank holiday weekend.” Tony Jerome, head of marketing at CAMRA, added: “It is great to see Punch offering its customers past CAMRA Champion Beer of Britain winners. We hope this will encourage more people to try real ale and lead to a rise in real-ale sales for Punch’s partners.”
