Pubs 'n' Bars chief executive Mel Belligero has upped his stake in the company to 56,882 shares or 0.14% He bought 25,000 shares in the AIM-listed pub operator at 20p each. Siva Namasivayam, the company's finance director also bought 25,000 shares at 8p per share, lifting his stake to 76,731 shares or 0.19% in the company. Yesterday Pubs'n'Bars revealed its interim results for the period prior to 30 June, and said that' revenues increased by 25% to £11.2m – up from £8.9m in 2007. The company's operating profits also rose by 38% to £1.8m from £1.3m. Its profits before tax jumped to £0.58m – an increase of 7% on the £0.54m made in the same period the year before. Chairman Seamus Murphy also called for the tax duty calculator to be dropped.
