Entries are being sought from leading pub companies for the Publican Awards 2012. The awards have been refocused under M&C's sister title the Publican's Morning Advertiser as a headquarters awards, recognising the achievements of top pub companies. The awards were acquired as part of UBM's sale of the Publican to William Reed Business Media in April and previously recognised both licensees and pub companies. There are 13 awards open to entry in the 2012 awards including Best New Site, Best Employer, Best Tenanted/Leased Pub Company, Best Managed Pub Company, Best Accommodation Operator and Best Food Offer. The judging process includes HQ site visits, mystery site visits and panel interviews with an expert panel of independent judges. Judges include Luke Johnson, co-founder Risk Capital Partners; James Ainley, Citibank analyst; Greg Feehley, leisure analyst at Altium Securities; Ufi Ibrahim, chief executive of the British Hospitality Association and Geof Collyer, Deutsche Bank analyst. Rob Willock, Publican's Morning Advertiser group editor, said: “The Publican Awards offers winners a new Quality Standard Mark which they can use to promote themselves both inside and outside their business.” The closing date for entries is 9 December 2011.
