Peach Pub Company, the food pub specialist led by entrepreneurs Lee Cash and Hamish Stoddart, has acquired its ninth pub, The Embankment in Bedford. The company has leased the riverside property from Charles Wells, the Bedford-based brewer and pub group, and will initially run the site as a going concern. The two pub groups will invest a total of £700,000 in refurbishing the property and bringing it up to the standard of Peach’s other pubs after trading it through the summer. The venue currently comprises 20 letting rooms, a bar and a 100-cover dining area. The pub will be run by Andrew Coath, one of Peach’s joint venture partners, who also owns the Swan in Salford and the Black Horse in Woburn.
