Prince Charles is planning to sell his organic beer in pubs. Duchy Originals has just produced its first draught ale and hand-pulled pints will be available in a limited number of pubs from next month. The ruby-coloured beer is made at the Wychwood Brewery in Oxfordshire, which was bought by Marston’s last year. Its ingredients include Plumage Archer, a rare variety of barley grown on the Prince’s Home Farm at Highgrove. Duchy chief executive Andrew Baker described the ale as “a classic product and part of our plan to reconnect with the farm, at least symbolically”. The Observer 13/07/08 (Business) page 1
