Oakman Inns & Restaurants, the Hertfordshire-based company headed by former Whitbread executive Peter Borg-Neal, will open its sixth site next month, after investing around £3m on converting and refurbishing the Marlborough Hotel in Market Square Witney. The 21-room boutique hotel, restaurant and bar, which has been closed for a full refurbishment and renovation since it was acquired last year, will re-open under its original name the Blue Boar Inn. Earlier this year, the company appointed Jason Ross, formerly of Urban & Country Leisure (UCL), as its new finance director. Ross joined the then five-strong Hertfordshire-based company after two years as finance director at UCL, the leisure group set up by entrepreneur Ross Sanders.
