Landlords are using Cliff Richard's Christmas hit "Mistletoe and Wine" to empty pubs at closing time. It came out top when the John Barras chain of inns asked publicans to name the best jukebox songs to get rid of drunken revellers. Second was "Walking in the Air" by Aled Jones, with Elvis Presley's "Blue Christmas" at number three. But Cliff was back in the Top Ten of chucking-out tunes at number six with his "Millennium Prayer". A John Barras spokesman said Cliff was guaranteed to make people drink up and leave. But a spokesman for the star dismissed the survey as "nonsense". The survey showed the most requested yuletide song was the 1973 Slade hit "Merry Xmas Everybody". The Mail on Sunday 19/12/04 page 28
