Young’s will announce the replacement of John Young next week following the chairman’s death. The Daily Telegraph says it is almost certain to be the first non-family chairman since the Youngs family took control in 1832. Whoever it is will chair the company under the leadership of chief executive Stephen Goodyear who has transformed the business. Goodyear plans to open new pubs in the company’s south of England heartland. The Daily Telegraph 30/09/06 page 33
