New Generation Wines, supplier to the likes of River Cafe, 1 Lombard Street and Fifteen, is picking up three or four new listings each week. The three-year-old supplier to restaurants, clubs and bars, has just signed a lease to rent a warehouse in London’s Borough for £21,000 a year. The company is run by former City banker, James Booth, 33, who also runs Grape-juice, a wine club that holds tastings at the Antelope pub in Belgravia, and Virtual Wine, a website that co-ordinates tasting events for people at home.
