Morrisons has become the latest supermarket chain to enter the foodservice market with the launch of a trial sushi bar site. The group has launched the trial site in its store in St Albans, Hertfordshire, and could look at rolling out the concept to further sites going forward. The company hired Waitrose executive chef Neil Nugent, who has previously won a Michelin star at Pools Court in Leeds, earlier this year to oversee its in-store food offer. Earlier this year, Asda, the UK's second largest supermarket chain by market share, said it planned to roll out restaurant counters across a number of its sites in London and Yorkshire, after a successful trial in one of its stores in Birmingham.
