McDonald’s and Novus Leisure have become the latest companies in the leisure sector to start a recruitment process for a head of digital. The successful McDonald’s applicant, who will become the chain’s first UK head of digital, will according to Marketing magazine, oversee the ‘digitising’ of its UK restaurants, including the addition of multichannel ordering and the latest payment technologies. At the same time, Novus, the late-night bar and nightclub operator, has appointed Retail Recruitment Comp to recruit a head of digital marketing on a salary of £100,000. Earlier this year, Nando’s, the fast-casual chicken restaurant chain, moved to increase its digital operation with the appointment of Jonathan Hopkins as its first head of digital.
