Marston’s Pub Company, the tenanted and leased arm of the brewer and pub operator, has succeeded in letting over half of the 47 lease opportunities it placed on the market in April. The sites, which are to be converted from managed houses, are spread across the UK, with locations ranging from Darlington and Poole and between Clyde and Redhill. The majority of the pubs are available on 10 to 20-year assignable tied leases, with the rest offered on traditional tenancy agreements. Gill Richardson, head of business opportunities at Marston’s Pub Company, said: “The whole process is going exceptionally well. We offered a tranche of quality outlets to the market which in turn has attracted quality operators. Going forward, we’re extremely optimistic about the future of these businesses.” Neil Morgan, head of pubs at Christie & Co, who handled the deal, said: “We are delighted to have so far completed over half the lettings for Marston’s. Despite the doom and gloom currently being whipped up around the market, these lettings show that the appetite for quality leasehold pubs remains healthy. “The pubs that we still have available have also attracted strong interest and we are confident that they will be successfully let over the next few months.”
