Living Ventures (LV), the north west-based restaurant and bar company led by Tim Bacon, is to launch a casual dining site “with a couple of twists” called Artisan in Manchester’s Spinningfields. The 12,000sq ft unit will comprise a 250-cover restaurant, 150-capcity bar and a lounge that holds a further 120 all on the first floor of the Tower12 development. The new site will be completely separate from the group’s upcoming fine dining venture @Manchester House overseen by chef Aiden Byrne, which is also housed at the development. The company also hopes to operate a 24-hour lounge with 360-degree panoramic view of the city at the site’s 12th floor. Bacon is set to open his second pub in the region, The Botanist, through his New World Pub Company vehicle at the start of October in the village of Alderley Edge, Cheshire. The company said that The Botanist would have the “same ethos and values” as its city centre counterpart the Oast House, which opened in Spinningfields last September.
