JD Wetherspoon (JDW) has revealed that, having bought back some 150,000 shares a day earlier, it bought back a further 40,000 of its own shares yesterday, at an average price of 407.1p. It is the first time in a couple of years that Wetherspoon has bought back shares and it will now cancel the shares. The buy-back follows the recent departure of finance director Keith Down and company secretary Paul Harbottle.
