There has been an encouraging level of interest shown in the 76 Scottish pubs that were formerly part of Robert Tchenguiz’s pub property empire, after a deadline of 25 May for bids was reached. Christie + Co is marketing the sites on behalf of administrators Deloitte and James Shorthouse, director at the property advisor, told M&C Report that the sites had received an encouraging level of interest from both group and individual operators. The pubs were among 126 sites previously owned by Tchenguiz’s R&L Properties group, which was placed in administration in January. Most of the venues are being sold as investments with long-term tenants in place, although a number are available with vacant possession. R&L Properties was once managed by Scottish & Newcastle Pub Company, before LT Management Services were appointed to manage the business in the autumn of 2010, alongside Licensed Solutions, a temporary management firm that specialises in these situations, was also brought in to help.
