Hed Kandi, the music and lifestyle brand, will open its second eponymous late-night bar in the UK, at the start of next month in Brighton. The company, which is owned by the Ministry of Sound, will open on the site of the former Luminar-owned Tru venue in Brighton’s West Street on 5 November. The group, which is led by Iain Hagger, is looking to add up between three to five branded late-night bars a year across the country and is initially targeting sites with a minimum of 2,000sq ft across the South East and London. The company opened its first bar in Clapham, London in November 2010 and is opening in Ibiza and Brighton this summer. It has appointed Cushman & Wakefield, the property consultant, to source locations for the planned roll out. The new chain of bars will have “a strong emphasis on design, customer service, and experience”.
