ETM Group, the London-based gastropub operator, has confirmed plans to open its 10th pub on the site of the former Whitbread Brewery in London’s Chiswell Street in March. The Jugged Hare, formerly known as the King’s Head, is set to undergo a full refit, ETM said, to include a 40-cover public bar, 60-cover dining room, plus a private room. The refurbishment of the Grade II-listed, 4,000 sq ft site will also see the inclusion of ‘walk-in’ wine room where guests can handpick their wine. Tom Martin said: “This is a project that we have been working on for a very long time and it will be a pleasure to showcase our genuine passion for British produce, particularly meat, game and wild fish and shellfish, alongside fine wines and real ales in an English pub setting.” A special bottled beer, also named Jugged Hare, has been brewed by Sambrook’s Brewery specially for the pub. Last year ETM opened another site in the former Whitbread brewery, the Chiswell Street Dining Rooms.
