Enterprise Inns has sold 31 freehold pubs and 10 leasehold pubs to Admiral Taverns for £10.45m in cash. The pubs were sold as part of the company's commitment to removing pubs that do not match its quality profile. Deborah Walters from Enterprise told M&C Report that the pubs were sold as part of Enterprise’s commitment to quality. “From Enterprise’s point of view they were not of the adequate standard,” she said. Admiral Taverns has now purchased 370 pubs since the company was set up in 2004. Gary Landesberg of Admiral told M&C Report that the pubs would all be operated as tenanted pubs. He added that as yet Admiral is not sure how much refurbishment will be done on the 41 pubs but said: "We will do some cap ex-ing, but its too early to say a figure." The deal will be completed later this month. Walters also added that Enterprise had no further acquisitions or sales in the pipeline.
