Restaurant group Living Ventures is facing a tough challenge after doubling in size through the acquisition of the Est Est Est chain for £16.4m. Managing director Tim Bacon plans to spend up to £500,000 refitting each of the 20 restaurants, transforming their look and revamping the kitchens, menus and the way staff work. Progress so far has been encouraging. Like-for-like sales at Est Est Est have stabilised after dropping 18% the previous year. Bacon says like-for-like sales at outlets already refurbished have soared by 267%. Living Ventures is ranked number 34 in Britain's fastest growing companies.
