A new investment fund targeting the pub and drinks industry, which operates under the crowdfunding investing platform Crowdcube, has been launched. Called Raisedough, it would see people investing in pub or drinks companies in return for equity and designated ‘rewards’. The venture is headed by managing director Richard Reeves, who said: “You only have to turn on the television to see food & drink inspiring and attracting attention from crowds of eaters and drinkers. The regional and loyalty-focussed nature of the breweries and pubs marketplace make crowdfunding an exciting and contemporary way to raise finance for brewery or brand development or to grow a pub estate.” Last November Rushmore Group, the members’ club group led by Jonathan Downey, raised £1m to develop a new venue in London, through Crowdcube.
