Stephen Bartlett, the largest shareholder in Coffee Republic, the coffee shop chain, claims that he speaks for 45% of the shareholder base. Bartlett, who owns a 13% stake in Coffee Republic through his company Plymouth Land, says he has been working in conjunction with other shareholders to remove founder Bobby Hashemi, who only owns 2% of the shares. He has been using the ADVFN bulletin board to share complaints. Bartlett said: “Rather than blame others, Mr. Hashemi should take responsibility for the many years of losses and destruction of shareholder value under his stewardship.”
