Macmillan Cancer Relief and The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation have joined forces to create a beermat to promote Global Lung Cancer Awareness Month this November. The beer mats feature the cartoon character Andy Capp urging his wife Flo to get her lungs checked, and on the reverse they feature the symptoms to look out for and where to call for further information. Also available are posters featuring Andy Capp which explain what signs and symptoms people should look out for, what checks to expect the doctor to do, and where further information is available. Dr Jesme Baird, director of Patient Care at The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, said: "Lung cancer can be a very devastating disease. The information on these beermats and posters tells people what to look out for and encourages them to seek medical help early, ensuring they have the very best chance of survival."
