The Rev James, brewed by SA Brain, was named Best in Show at the seventh annual Pub and Bar Show. The beer is named after the founder of Buckley's Brewery, the Reverend James Buckley a Methodist priest who married the daughter of Henry Childs who had established a brewery in Llanelli in 1767. Ian Beattie, trade marketing manager SA Brain, said, "We are delighted that The Rev James has been judged as the best ale in the UK in this prestigious competition. "Its unique history and unusual name has always added to the beer's great appeal."
