Be At One, the London-based cocktail bar operator, has this morning reported like-for-like sales of £3.4m, up 8.4%, amid plans to ramp up its expansion plans. The 10-strong privately owned group, which has been operating for 13 years, said overall sales for the six months to 3 October were up by 25% at £3.96m. Ebitda increased by 12% to £767,218 and operating profit increased by 16%. The group said it had started the second half of the year in the same vein and was “optimistic” for the Christmas period. It said that its most recent opening in Shoreditch was trading well and it hoped to open a further two sites in 2010. It also expects to open a further five sites in 2011. The group also revealed that it had strengthened its management team with the appointment of Andrew Stones as operations director. He has previously worked for a clutch of leading leisure companies including Whitbread, JD Wetherspoon, Esporta and most recently worked as group operations director of American Amusements. Rhys Oldfield, co-founder said: “We are pleased to announce that Be At One has started is 13th year of trading with strong like for like sales growth. Our concept of consistently great cocktails, superior service and classic tunes continues to deliver exactly what our customers desire. “We continued to expand with our tenth site opening in Shoreditch. This site has performed in line with our expectations and is a great addition to our group. We continue to look for more sites and remain confident that we will open another two sites this financial year and five next year.” As well as Shoreditch the company runs outlets in Balham, Battersea Rise, Clapham Common, Covent Garden, Hammersmith, Putney, Richmond, Soho and Spitalfields.
