Atmosphere Bars & Clubs, the Sun Capital Partners-backed nightclub operator, has promoted Tony Trainor, its commercial and property director, to the role of chief operating officer. Trainor, who was previously a group operations manager at La Tasca, joined Atmosphere in 2008 as operations director. In May last year, he was appointed commercial & property director for Atmosphere, which is looking to double in size to around 60 sites in the next two years. Led by chief executive Paul Harbottle the company, which currently operates 29 leasehold clubs including a number of Chicago Rock outlets, is believed to be amongst the suitors for all or part of the former Luminar business, that is currently in administration.
